Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University, Pokhara, Nepal.

Year: 2016-2021 A.D

As a child, I viewed forests through a simpler lens, places to play hide-and-seek, collect firewood, or find peace and quiet. As I grew older, my curiosity surged, and I began to see how intricately connected forests are to the lives of local communities. This realization made me to pursue a career in forestry, eventually earning my degree from the Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University.

During my time in the program (2016-2021), I built a strong foundation in sustainable forest management, ecology, and resource conservation, with a special focus on Nepal’s ecosystems. I gained hands-on experience in forest inventory, GIS mapping, and ecological assessment, practical skills that prepared me to tackle forestry challenges with confidence.

The program also emphasized the socio-economic and cultural aspects of forestry, that gave me 360 degree perspective to engage deeply in community-based forest management and conservation. Courses like Community Forests, Forest Utilizations, Silviculture, and Research Methodology gave me essential tools to collect and analyze field data, prepare operational plans for community forests, and work closely with diverse stakeholders.

Beyond academics, I developed leadership skills by organizing and participating in environmental events such as workshops, seminars, and rallies. These extra curricular experiences helped me take a lead by polishing my abilities in technical writing, teamwork, and policy evaluation. My journey through this degree didn’t just shape my knowledge; it transformed my perspective to approach conservation and sustainable resource management with empathy and expertise.
